Simulation communication between two laptops in the same network connected using a switch

  Step 1: Open Cisco Packet Tracer.


Step 2: Once Cisco Packet Tracer opens, click Endpoints in the bottom left icon menu and add his 2 PCs and the switch to the simulator screen.



Step 3: Connect all PCs and hubs with straight copper cables by selecting Straight Copper Cables from the Cables menu in the bottom left menu of the simulator. A green signal in the cable indicates it is ready for communication.





Step 4: Next, you need to assign a unique IP address to each PC. Click on each PC, go to the Desktop section, click IP Configuration and specify the IP address.


IP Address Subnet Mask

PC-1 = 192.168.1.1 

subnet mask -255.255.255.0

PC-2 = 192.168.1.2

255.255.255.0
